Hookers Arrested Not Near Adult Businesses

WILKES-BARRE – Six people were arrested Tuesday night stemming from an undercover investigation targeting prostitution in the downtown and South Main Street areas.
Arrested and charged with prostitution and related offenses were: Christy Stull, 24, Wilkes-Barre; Sandra Shannon, 49, Wilkes-Barre; Danielle Witt, 31, Wilkes-Barre; Kimberly Waters, age unknown, Wilkes-Barre; Brandi Crane, 24, Edwardsville; and Steven M. Gustin, 28, Freeland.
Police conducted the sting between 8 p.m. and midnight.
In two instances, police said Shannon approached an undercover plains clothes officer and offered to perform a sex act for money. She was arrested at Race and Walnut streets at 9:11 p.m.
Crane approached a plains clothes officer and offered to perform a sex act for money. She was arrested at Pickering Street and Marlborough Avenue at 9:33 p.m.
Police did not give information how Stull, Witt, Waters and Gustin were arrested.
Police said Stull was sent to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility when it was learned she was wanted by the county’s Adult Probation and Parole Department.
Gustin also faces a charge of drug possession. Police said Gustin was in possession of heroin at the time of his arrest.
